Atiya Canley
| Atiya Canley, Founder and Owner of “You Are the Star Weddings & Events”, has worked for several Non Profits and Youth organizations in Washington. In those positions she provided social and corporate event planning – where she combined her calm demeanor with a passion for creating events that were truly one of a kind. Her event planning career began at the early age of five in preparation for her birthday party, which included a guest list of over forty children, piñatas, games and parent activities. These skills were utilized consistently throughout high school and at Washington State University, where student organization leadership provided several opportunities to organize local and regional conferences, parties, events and meetings. |

Through those experiences she discovered what it took to throw fabulous events and parties; “a high level of organization, attention to detail, integrity, personal care and interest in my clients desires”, all of which, she has intergraded into her own business. After experiencing her own magical moment during her wedding to her husband Jahmad, she couldn’t help but wish that every bride would have the same beautiful experience that she had. From that day forward, her passion was to assist others and help ensure that they could also experience the moment of a lifetime. The rest was history. When she started this business, many names came to mind, however, one overshadowed all others. You Are the Star Weddings & Events encompassed the years of event planning and her own wedding day and the motto and vision of the company.

Clarissa McCall
Clarissa was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology. In order to work her way through school, she owned and operated a house cleaning business. While it could definitely be dirty work, she discovered she loved the freedom and responsibility of entrepreneurship. Through this endeavor she honed her talents of paying attention to detail, multi-tasking, and coordinating and negotiating the financial aspects of running a business.

She is currently pursuing her Masters of Education degree in Counseling from Seattle University. While pursuing her degree, she worked as a Personal Assistant. Through this she learned how to manage her time on important tasks in order to meet deadlines, plan, research, and implement ideas in order to carry them out to their completion. All these skills carry over to a successful Bridal Consultant Assistant. Clarissa is able to exercise her creative eye and flair for fashion in planning and setting up for your special event
